Project Overview
Massage & Movement Therapy Centre came to by Stoneman through an enquiry on my own website, just as Lorna was preparing to launch the business.
There was no existing website or online presence to work from, which meant starting completely from scratch. The goal was to create somewhere that could introduce the new business, explain the different treatments, gym sessions and classes available, and ultimately help turn people discovering MMTC online into new clients. With several different services to cover, Lorna preferred to give each area its own space rather than trying to squeeze everything into one long homepage. From there, I was given plenty of creative freedom to develop a look and structure that would bring everything together under one consistent brand.
The finished Squarespace website gave MMTC a professional online presence from the beginning, ready to grow alongside the business.
My Approach
With no previous website or design to follow, I could concentrate on building the site around what MMTC actually needed.
The different services were separated into clear, focused pages, making it easier for someone looking for a particular treatment or class to find the information relevant to them without having to dig through the website. Throughout the build, Lorna and I kept in regular contact over WhatsApp, with occasional calls to run through the site and make sure everything was heading in the right direction. I also added a few touches beyond the standard Squarespace setup, including rotating text on the homepage and a dedicated reviews integration that automatically keeps customer feedback up to date without requiring Lorna to manually maintain it.
Once everything was ready, I met with Lorna in person for the handover, running through the finished website and making sure she was comfortable taking control of it herself.
That's something I always want from a by Stoneman website: once I've finished building it, the client shouldn't need a web developer every time they want to make a simple change.
And looking back at the site now, it's particularly nice to see that the original build has held up. The website is still largely as it was when it was handed over, doing the job it was designed to do.
