Introducing Social English.
Client: Social English
Sector: Training & Professional Education
Project Overview
Social English came to me through Upwork, where Perry was looking for a Squarespace expert to take over an existing website that he wasn't happy with. He already had a clear vision for the business, along with established branding and professional photography, but wanted someone who could take responsibility for the website while he focused on growing Social English.
The project developed into a complete overhaul of the website, creating a clearer experience for both individual learners and businesses while giving Perry a platform that better represented the quality of his English training services. It was also my first project for a client based outside the UK, adding another sector (and another country) to the growing by Stoneman portfolio.
My Approach
With the branding and photography already in place, my focus was on bringing everything together into a website that felt professional, easy to navigate and built around how Social English actually works. Rather than simply redesigning what was already there, Perry and I worked closely throughout the project to refine the structure, separate the different audiences and create a clearer journey from discovering the service through to arranging a consultation.
The project also allowed me to work more extensively with Squarespace Member Areas, creating dedicated spaces for course content and resources alongside the main website. What made the project particularly enjoyable was that it always felt like I was working with Perry rather than simply for him. Ideas developed throughout the build; we worked through them together, and the finished website became something that reflected both his knowledge of the business and my experience with Squarespace.
