Introducing Revel Events.
Client: Revel Events
Sector: Events & Entertainment Services
Project Overview
Revel Events came to me through a recommendation from Pride in Coalville, after Tom had seen the website I'd created for them and liked what I'd done. Based in Reading, Revel was one of the first projects to come my way through word of mouth from well outside my local area.
The business already had a simple website built using Google, but Tom wanted something that better reflected the professional event management services Revel provides. The brief was deliberately straightforward: a modern, professional online presence that showcased the business, increased its visibility and gave potential clients an easy way to find out more and get in touch.
Rather than building a larger website for the sake of it, Tom wanted everything contained within a single page. The result is one of my smaller builds, but one designed to do exactly what Revel needed it to do.
My Approach
Tom had a couple of websites he liked for inspiration, which gave me a starting point for the overall direction. From there, I worked with a Squarespace template and adapted the design around Revel's own branding, content and event imagery, creating a site that feels much more representative of the business while keeping the experience simple and easy to navigate.
With Tom regularly travelling for work, most of the project was managed around his availability, with occasional calls to work through feedback and keep everything moving. Once the website was complete, I also handled the transition of the existing domain across to the new site. For me, one of the most rewarding parts of the project was simply how it came about: work I'd already completed for one organisation leading directly to a completely new client I might otherwise never have crossed paths with.
